Back in September of last year, I shared that we were recruiting for three new service workers to join the MCC Cambodia team. I’m glad to announce that all three arrived safely and without incident in Cambodia on May 19th. We had a service worker back out after accepting last year so we waited to announce until they arrived in country (and then I was quite busy so I just didn’t get to posting until now).
Please allow me to introduce them.
- Mainza Hanzukule, who was a YAMENer in India from 2017 to 2018, is our new Peaceful Education Coordinator. He will be supporting Women Peace Makers, Peace Bridges Organization, and the Peace Club project.
- Tasiana Mulenshi is our new Humantarian Response Partner Advisor. She will be supporting KVAO and our partners in Myanmar.
- Victor Odinda, who was a YAMENer in Cambodia from 2019 to 2020, is our new Climate Solutions Partner Advisor. He will be supporting CRDT and ODOV.
During his YAMEN term, Victor supported our partner Building Community Voices and you might remember him playing Chess with Charlotte. Mainza and Tasiana are Anabaptists, members of the Brethren in Christ church in Zambia.
Victor, Tasiana, and Mainza are now living with Cambodian host families while engaging in intensive Khmer language study in the mornings and taking MCC orientation trainings in the afternoons.
Great! Glad those positions could be filled!
