Sharing Food Together

In the New Testament, we often see Jesus breaking bread to share with the disciples and others. There’s something powerful about sharing food in community.

This week, Sokea from the MCC Phnom Penh office is out in Prey Veng at our field visit helping with some work and the Prey Veng team has been sending us photos of the meals that they’ve been sharing together.

Rory and Sokea at a local noodle shop.
Our Education Coordinator, Maly, shared this delicious traditional Amok made by her Mom.

Good food and good company; it makes me wish that I’d taken the week to work in Prey Veng!

Yes! Traditional fish amok is wonderful. The banana leaf adds flavor, not just form. The crab amok they make in Kep is also fantastic.

The food looks delicious. Maybe you’ll be able to prepare a few of these meals for us to try while you’re here. And, I’ll make your favorites and whatever else you guys would like!!
