Next month we will finally be on our long delayed first home leave. We will be spending June in Pennsylvania/New Jersey, United States and July in Saskatchewan, Canada. Home leave is not purely a time of respite and reconnection, we will still have some meetings and work to do, but we are looking forward to reconnecting with you as much as possible.
- On Friday, June 10th we will be in Akron, Pennsylvania for meetings at the MCC office. That evening we’re inviting MCC alumni in the area to join us for a ‘make our own Khmer meal’ dinner. If you are an alumni in area who I missed, please reach out.
- On Sunday, June 12th we will be at my childhood church Fairfield Mennonite near Gettysburg. There will be a picnic Fellowship Dinner afterwards.
- On Sunday, June 19th we will be at Plains Mennonite Church in Hatfield. There will be a Fellowship Meal after the service.
- We will be in the Harleysville area Monday June 20th through Thursday June 23rd. We have received a lot of lunch and dinner invites this week, but would be glad to meet up for breakfast or during off times.
- On Sunday, June 26th we will be at Plains Mennonite Church in Hatfield for most of the day.
- In Saskatchewan, we will visiting the MCC Saksatoon office as well joining the service at North Star Mennonite and Grace Mennonite Churches. The exact dates are still coming together.
Hopefully we’ll get to see you and, if not, we understand. June and July are very busy times of the year. Certainly our schedule is much fuller than we had expected it to be – this is, of course, a good thing. We were actually worried that we’d miss many people due to summer plans.
Looking forward to seeing you!
It sounds very exciting!I have a lot of relatives living in Harleysville.
Enjoy this exciting time reconnecting with family and friends stateside.
The congregation at Plains is looking forward to seeing you, hearing your updates firsthand, and spending time with your family! Blessings and prayers as you wrap up, pack up, and plan for this time of leave!
