July Staycation

We had been hoping to take a vacation over schoolbreak (especially since school has been online and these girls are antsy to get out of the house). I wanted to go back to Angkor Wat while we could visit without hordes of tourists and the rest of the family wanted to go to the beach. But, with the COVID-19 situation, we decided it was best to ‘staycation’ instead.

When your daughter is so tired that she falls asleep on the moto you know she needs a staycation.

We borrowed a pool from the missionaries up the street and the girls decorated the surroundings so it looked like the beach. (I didn’t decorate anything to look like ancient temples so that’s my bad.)

We had a lot of fun at the ‘beach’, playing family games, and just being together.

We decided to do a staycation because of COVID-19 but it was so much fun and less stressful than traveling that we might make it an annual occurrence…perhaps over Pchum Ben. (We’ll still go to the beach as soon as we’re able to safely!)
