COVID-19: Second Dose

I’d been holding out for our vaccination cards but as they’ve been delayed I thought I’d go ahead and share the good news. The day before Catherine’s 4th birthday we went for our second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a local primary school. It was a much faster process than the first dose, which involved registration, and we were done in less than two hours.

In the pre-vaccination waiting area with Clivia and Simeon.
In the post vaccination waiting area, the Doctor asked to talk a photo with me because ‘you are very tall.’

We’re anticipating booster shots in the future but, at least for now, it’s a big relief to be fully vaccinated especially as numbers continue to rise in Cambodia. We appreciate, again, that the Cambodian government has included foreigners fully in it’s vaccination campaign and that the country has continued to be warm and welcoming even during pandemic.

Earlier this week, for the first time in well over a year, I was able to study Khmer language in person with my teacher (who is also vaccinated) instead of online. That alone is cause for celebration.

The one downside of being fully vaccinated is that I finally shaved off my COVID-19 lockdown beard. Not that you can tell with the mask on.

Wonderful! How fun that the Dr found your stature interesting:) Happy to hear it’s all worked out and that the government of Cambodia is reaching out to all who are in their beautiful Country.

I (Sherry) liked how the (obviously short) doctor wanted a photo with you to contrast your size ! And I’m impressed that you’re still studying Khmer! Good for you AND the Cambodians around you!
