Microsoft recently announced that they’re ending support for Windows 10 in 2025. Way back when Microsoft introduced Windows 10, they said it would be a shift from Windows as a product to Windows as a service and that it would be the last, final, and forever version of Windows. But they changed their minds. This has raised a lot of concern for institutions that use Windows 10 on devices that Windows 11 won’t support. These include hospitals – many medical devices actually run on Windows – and banks.
Speaking of Banks and Windows, recently the ATMs at our local bank have been displaying ‘Activate Windows’ in the lower right hand corner. A reminder that the ATMs are actually running on Windows, that their hardware probably won’t support Windows 11, and that unlicensed software use is still rampant here in Cambodia.
Àaargh!!!
Ugh 😩 here we go again
I know, right? It makes me glad that I’m not in IT right now.
