To conclude the story of Ugh Food Poisoning and Probably Not Food Poisoning… After the tests came back the Doctor concluded that I did have Dengue Fever. It has been a long recovery – lots of muscle pain, fatigue, and headaches. But, after a month, I’m finally feeling close to normal again.
Dengue is a virus that infects white blood cells. This causes a variety of unpleasant chain reactions throughout the body. Symptoms persist after the virus has run it’s course until the blood stream has cleaned up all the muck it generated and all the various systems affected by the blood stream have stabilized.
Ugh. Glad you are starting to feel better. Thinking of/ and praying for you guys. Sending love from Lansdale.
Thank you – we appreciate the love and prayers. So many ups and downs here.
I’m glad you are feeling better Charles.
Thanks Bonny. š
I am glad that you are on the way to recovery!
Thank you! Me too. š
Oh, my, Charles, hope this recovery means you have built up resistance to some resident germs. Prayers and love surround all of you.
Thank you! I’m now immune to this strand of Dengue…but there are four more strands so I will still need to practice good mosquito protection. We appreciate and need your prayers.
Gotta catch’em all?
Let’s hope not! I’m not sure if the new fifth strand they discovered in 2013 is even on Cambodia yet.
Glad you are feeling better. These things sure take a lot out of you. Work is very much harder when not feeling strong. My prayers are with you as you continue to recover!
Personally I’m not a believer in the “what doesn’t kill u makes u stronger” [not necessarily anyway] but if there is an upside to getting dengue its that as a badge-of-courage it sounds way cooler / exotic / distinguished than “food poisoning”…just saying š
I do hope all of you get over all your ailments soon though.
